Press Release:
New: |
Homeland Security, Coast Guard & Border Patrol In April 2004 the RAM system
was demonstrated in Florida where the system
was able to show off it's capabilities in less than perfect conditions.
High humidity and fog made this
demonstration a valuable one. We trained a Florida police officer to
operate the camera and he was able to do demonstrations for the law enforcement
and coast guard.
During the coast guard demo, they created a drug running situation using a fast boat with a blue tarp to disguise it. The officer, who we briefly trained and left in charge of the camera operation while we returned to Oregon, was able to easily detect the camouflaged boat. Not having put the camera to this kind of test before, we were quite certain the camera would be able to detect the heat of the engine, however, it outlined the entire boat, something that has not been achieved by other surveillance systems. The capabilities verified by the Coast Guard during this drill are a valuable representation of the camera and RAM system, demonstrating that the system can be adapted to the very specific needs of any organization. |
